Spring Pictures
Just a quick reminder we still need pictures or their payment from some students.
Lifetouch is coming early next week to pick them up. If you pay online, we still need the email showing that you paid or send the envelope back with the code written on it.
Thanks!
Hy Vee Receipts
As of now, we are only taking HyVee receipts dated 5/1/16 or after.
Thanks for all that were turned-in, this year. We think that we will beat our last year's total! Awesome job, thanks.
A Note from Our Parent Group
We raised$1,713 as a part of our Parent Group's Dimes Make a Difference coin collection! This money has allowed us to buy new books to completely enhance our guided reading library. It also allowed each of our students to get a turn duct taping Mr. Ewald to a chair as he was wheeled into every classroom this afternoon.
Thanks, everyone!
Mr. Ewald's Read Aloud
This month Mr. Ewald is reading How Rocket Learned to Read, by Tad Hills to each class.
- How does Rocket feel about school at the beginning of the book?
- How does Rocket feel about school at the end of the book?
- Why do his feelings about school change?
Important - Dismissal on 15th Street
As always, we allow/encourage parents and other adults to park across the street (in the high school parking lot) and walk across 15th Street to pick-up students.
Police have informed us that they are planning to stop, occasionally, to monitor the situation; it is possible that they may issue tickets rather than warnings to those parked on 15th Street after-school.
Marion Spirit Day
Thanks to our awesome Parent Group, ALL of our students are receiving this awesome 'Follow the Marion Way' tee-shirt.
Therefore, we are declaring every Tuesday to be Marion Spirit Day - staff and students are encouraged (if they choose) to wear Marion, Starry, and/or red and gold clothing.
#TCT - Think College Thursdays!
Show your school spirit and help promote post-secondary education in our building by wearing clothing that supports your favorite college.
We believe that college and career readiness begins in elementary school. Therefore, we are encouraging everyone to wear their college shirt/sweatshirt or college color every Thursday.
Remind
Mr. Ewald would like you to join Parents!
To receive messages via text, text @starryelep to 81010
I plan to use Remind as an efficient communication tool to share short messages that pertain to all of the parents at Starry.
