Shaull Elementary School Newsletter: November 10, 2023
Principal's Message
We sincerely appreciate everyone who came out to the Harlem Wizards versus CV Dream Team basketball game on Wednesday night. We had a packed house at the CVHS Dome! While the Dream Team didn't win the game, it was a fun and memorable experience for our students, staff, and families! The proceeds from this event benefit the Eagle Foundation, which funds innovative grants and programs for teachers and students in the Cumberland Valley School District!
Gaga Pit Update - Once again, thank you Shaull Families for helping our PTO reach the $22,000 Fun Run goal! We have placed the order and decided on the location for our Gaga Pit on the playground and are excitedly awaiting its arrival!
Please review the information below for some exciting opportunities for students over the coming months. These include a 5th grade after school social hosted by the CVHS Mini THON committee and a Parent's Night Out evening for all students hosted by our amazing PTO.
While we had a flurry of Eagle Spotlight submissions for our last edition of Shark Bites, we have not received any Shout Outs for this edition. Please consider taking a couple minutes to complete the "Shout Out" form below to nominate a Shaull staff member for doing something great!
Respectfully,
Mr. T.

Parents Night Out - Thursday, December 14
Dear Shaull Families,
On Thursday, December 14th, the PTO will be hosting a Parents Night Out! The event is meant to give caregivers the chance to prepare for the holidays, or just have a moment of peace during a busy time! Space is limited, so please reserve your spot by completing the google form at http://tinyurl.com/shaullparentsnightout or scanning the QR code below. Once space has filled, we will make a Facebook post and the google form will close. We hope to see you there!
When: Thursday, December 14th, school dismissal to 7:30 PM
AM Kindergarten students may be brought back to school at 4:20 PM for the event. There will be an attendant in the lobby to check them in beginning at 4:20. Please make sure to park in the parking lot to bring your child in so we do not disrupt the dismissal process.
Teachers will have a list of which students have signed up for the event, but please make sure your student knows if they are attending to make dismissal go smoothly!
What: Kids who sign up for the event will be dismissed at the end of school to the cafeteria. There will be snacks, games, crafts, a pizza dinner, and a movie (the 2018 The Grinch).
Kids are welcome to bring a blanket and/or stuffed animal for the movie, please make sure items can fit inside a plastic grocery bag.
This will be a device-free event. Students will be asked to keep all electronic devices in their backpacks.
How to Sign-up: To reserve your spot, please complete the following google form mentioned above and send in $5 per student. Make sure to complete the google form prior to sending in payment. You will need to complete one google form per student. Please pay in advance to reserve your spot (no payments will be accepted at the event). When the limit has been reached, a Facebook announcement will be made and the google form will close. Payment options include:
- Cash - send into the school and note child’s name and that it is for Parents Night Out
- Check – make checks payable to Shaull PTO and send into the school and note child’s name and that it is for Parents Night Out
- Venmo – pay to @ShaullPTO and note child’s name and that the payment is for Parents Night Out
Pick-up: On the google form you will be asked to list individuals that can pick your student up from the event. Only these individuals will be allowed to pick-up your student, and they must bring a photo ID.
Please do not plan to pick up students prior to 7:15. They will be watching the movie which will make it difficult to dismiss students without disrupting the movie for everyone.
Additional Information: We know that students and parents alike are going to love this event! There is some more important information to make sure that everyone has a safe and wonderful time.
We need adult volunteers! To sign up, please visit: https://ttsu.me/shaullparentsnightout
Please note:
- Medications cannot be administered or taken during the event.
- We cannot accommodate allergies. Students with allergies are welcome to pack separate snacks/dinner, but they will not be monitored. If you have concerns for your student’s allergies, we encourage you to sign up as an adult volunteer for the event!
- Caregivers of any student that demonstrates inappropriate or unsafe behavior will be called to pick up their student.
