From the Desk of the Directors

We want to personally invite you to particpate in the free ELGA Financial Fitness Seminar entitled, "Feeding My Family Costs How Much?" ELGA is the credit union that works with the Lapeer County Community Foundation parntering with the Lapeer Education Attainment Fund program that is currently open to the Kindergarten class. This will be a great presentation. We hope to see you there, Tuesday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons.

This is the time of year when we begin to think about the next school year. We do not anticipate many openings next year for enrollment, but we would appreciate it if you would share enrollment details with friends and neighbors. Registration for the Chatfield lottery is due to the school office by April 1, 2020. The form can be found on the school website under enrollemnt. The greatest compliment you can share with the Chatfield staff is the curteousy of a positive referral to another family.

Winter studies are underway. Though this winter has not had a traditional cold spell, the students at all levels have been out participating in winter studies lessons. We hope to have a culmination of winter studies in late February and will keep you posted. This event is conditional to the weather.

Feeding My Family Costs How Much?

How much does it really cost to feed my family? After this session, you will know

how to plan our your meals for the month. You will see your grocery budget shrink

and your family will eat at home more. You will still get to dine out some days, but

the cost won’t cause any stress because it will already be a part of your plan!

If your child arrives at school late and does not order or arrives after 9am, he or she must bring their own lunch. Please contact Ami Davis at if you have any questions.

Fifth Grade Time to get Ready for Middle School

The Chatfield Middle School Open House is on Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 pm. It is important that at least one parent/guardian attend in order to learn about the course offerings and middle school scheduling process, meet the middle school teachers, and hear from students about what a typical Chatfield middle school day is like. The middle school program of study handbook and scheduling forms will be reviewed and passed out. We are excited for this opportunity to share the wonderful middle school program of study with you.

Additionally, you are welcome to invite friends that might be interested in learning about the Chatfield Middle School to attend this evening.

HERE IT COMES: THE P.I.E. UN-Fundraiser! Please support!

Parent groups rely heavily on fundraising to support the classrooms and the school. P.I.E. is no different. We respect your desire not to have to particpate in too many fundraisers. You know the feeling:

I really don't want to awkwardly ask my friends, family and coworkers AGAIN if they want to buy more wrapping paper, candy or cookie dough. I don't really want to let children wash my car and then have to go wash it again myself. I don't even bake for my family, so I don't really wantto bake for a fundraiser. I don't want to walk, swim or run in any activity that has the word 'thon' in it.

We're right there with you! This year, PIE is hoping to raise only the amount of money that we plan to spend this year, and then throw an even bigger and better bike rodeo next year to fuel two year's worth of projects again. In order to do this, we decided the best way to maintain our account balance would be to do an un-fundraiser... This would be in lieu of sending students home with the task of selling door to door, collecting money and delivering goods. Please help us avoid that by supporting PIE with your donation, and helping us achieve our goals to support our students and faculty.

There is not an official "due date" on this un-fundraiser. Some families may wish to send their donation in right away. Others may choose to wait until after the holidays. However, you decide, please decide to participate! We would appreciate all donations made by March or April. Donations from other families members like grandparents are also accepted. A thank you letter for tax purposes will be provided.

Please see the flyer below for details on how to make your contribution to the UN-fundraiser. Thank you!

Have Chatfield PRIDE!

This summer Chatfield staff and a team of middle school students agreed upon and finalized a Chatfield PRIDE motto that will be used throughout the school. The motto is pictured above. In particular our middle school students really valued the words respect, integrity, and empathy. In your home please talk about what these words mean to you and your family.
