King Charles V came from two well known ambitious rulers. Joanna, who ruled over north and South America, Italy, and Spain. His father Phillip was the duke of burgundy and from him Charles inherited the German lands that his grandfather claimed before him.

Cons of King Charles V
Poor money management
Even though King Charles V had many resources to gold and products from the new world, he still couldn't learn to spend his money and by the end of his rule, his region was filled to the brim in debt. He created many more warfair taxes and that made his people in terrible dept.
Lack of nationalism
Nationalism- the actions of patriotismic feelings, efforts and principles. This is one of the things that powered almost all the other large nations. Like Spain's enemy's at the time; France and England. This made his Habsburg territories u united.
Authority
King Charles V was very bad at keeping his name up. Nobody liked his way to control, the citizens always revolted against his rule. he had very little authority.
The Habsburg Threat
This was a system that the Habsburg brothers (King Charles V and his brothers) created.
It threatened national independence, France was threatened especially because they were surrounded by the system, and England was worried for their safety because they were not making headway into to continent. It did not improve Europe.
