PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Home Learning for Term 3 Week 6. As I prepare to send this newsletter out this morning I know that some classes have begun their zoom meetings for the day. I am looking forward to seeing all the good work that will be completed during the week. Please keep sending through your work and photos on Seesaw I know your teachers really appreciate this.

At Alert Level 3, you legally must stay within your household bubble unless for essential personal movement including going to work and going to school. As the Prime Minister noted on Friday, schools are essentially closed at Alert Level 3 with the exception of those few children whose parents are carers must go to work at Alert Level 3, and there is no appropriate caregiver at home.

We have to manage students in bubbles of no more than 10 at Alert Level 3 so there is quite a lot of logistical planning required and accurate information about who will be at school is important.

We will currently have three bubbles set up at school and each bubble will have a separate break time and lunch time from the other bubbles. As per our regulations school playgrounds will be out of bounds and the different bubbles will have certain areas they can play in around the school. Each bubble will run from the different blocks within the school i.e. Block A, Block B and Block C. Bubbles will have different gates to enter and exit the school from and two of the bubbles will have a staggered start and finish time as they will be using the same gate.

At this stage we have made provisions for 3 bubbles. If children turn up unannounced and the numbers exceed what is legally allowed under Alert Level 3, then those children will be turned away until a new provision (which we will need 24 hours notice) is made. This is why is information we have on our school spreadsheet needs to be as accurate as possible.

Contactless Pick Up of Hard Packs

With Level 3 we will be offering contactless pick-ups if you require more home learning material to complete (that is your child has completed all the work in the home pack that was sent home at the beginning of the week). If you need more work to complete then please make contact with your child's teacher via Seesaw.

The school will then be back in touch with you around a pick up time (between 9am and 3pm) and the instructions to collect the home learning pack.

Tau Competency Activities this week

We have updated and changed out Tau Competency activities this week. We have also added another page with activities relating to our school Wellbeing Model. I hope as many kids as possible will be able to give these activities a go.
