Welcome to the 2nd Quarter!
It is hard to believe, but we are now officially in the 2nd academic quarter! Hopefully, your first quarter was a success. If it wasn't what you wanted it to be, no problem. You have a chance to make this quarter a great one! The second quarter is always a fast one, especially with Thanksgiving and Holiday breaks. It will fly by, so make sure that you are giving your classes your very best efforts!
Fall AIR Testing and 1st Semester Finals
Also, 1st semester finals will take place starting on Tuesday, December 19th through Thursday, December 21st. Winter Vacation will start for all students after their last final exam. The final exam schedule will be set and posted during the week of November 6th.

Senior Year Important Dates
Also, seniors will need to be measured for graduation caps and gowns on Friday, November 10th. This will start at 7 a.m. in Room 209 on the 2nd floor. Please bring a check for $15 made payable to Independence High School. Seniors will also vote for the class song, quote, flower, and colors at this time. Enjoy the year seniors, as time will really start to fly by!
An Important Town Hall Event on 11/15/17: Is Being a "Good" Parent Good Enough?
We are asking parents to join us for a special Town Hall meeting on November 15th at 7 p.m. at the Independence Middle School auditorium to learn how to start protecting your family now. Our school district and our city are working together to focus efforts on prevention, starting at an early age. Please consider joining us for this important event.

An Amazing Fall Sports Season!
As of November 1st, both the Boys' Varsity Soccer team and the Lady Blue Devils Volleyball team are still in the playoffs. Please join us in cheering on these two teams, as they are now entering Regional play, which is only one step away from the state championship level! Good luck to both squads!
