Principal's Message
The transition to our current hybrid learning format continues as we enter our third week of this cycle. We look forward to transitioning to 2nd, 4th, and 6th period classes on March 1st. Our students continue to do a great job while on campus with both the COVID-19 protocols and in their classes. The interactions in class and hands-on activities taking place allow students to complete work and submit it before leaving for the day.
It is important to remember that students still have work to complete on the days they are not on campus. This work is part of their classes and students need to check their google classroom daily and complete the work assigned. Whether it is reviewing material taught in class or preparing for new material when returning to class, this work is important to their overall understanding of the content and therefore their success. While there are no longer daily Zoom classes, students can still contact their teachers during Zoom office hours Monday-Thursday to ask questions in a live setting. As always, teachers are also available by email and phone. Our goal is to see each of our students succeed in their classes, which includes both on campus learning and learning taking place at home.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Go Trojans.
- Derek Forbes
Inclement Weather Plans
If we have a "snow day" students will still be attending school. Instead of coming to campus, they will attend virtually.
Schedule
T3 and/or Homeroom will be removed from the bell schedule and school will start at 9am. Classes will go for seventy minutes with a ten-minute break between classes.
1st / 2nd – 9am to 10:10am
3rd / 4th – 10:15am to 11:25am
5th / 6th – 11:30 am to 12:40 pm
Office hours will take place at their normal time, 1:15 pm to 1:45 pm
Each teacher will have information available in their google classroom regarding
* virtual classroom expectations
* zoom classroom link
Hybrid Learning Schedule
Schedule Rotation
While the typical students are signed up for six classes, they are currently only attending three classes for a four or five-week cycle. This helps students stay organized and focused as they only need to manage three classes. Below is a list of dates sharing the start and end times of each academic cycle.
1/3/5 started on 2/1. End on 2/26 (4 weeks)
2/4/6 starts on 3/1. End on 4/2 (5 weeks)
1/3/5 starts on 4/12. End on 5/14 (5 weeks)
2/4/6 starts on 5/17. End on the last day of school (4 weeks)
Updated Meal Distribution Schedule
Cordata Presbyterian Church 10:15am to 11:00am
Pollman Circle 9:15am to 10:00am
The Middle School 11:00am to 12:30pm
Delivery is also available.
This is the same schedule we've been on for the majority of the school year, only the day is now Friday. We will not have a meal distribution the following Friday the 12th due to the Mid-Winter Break, but we will be back on schedule the week(s) following. Our only anticipated break in service will be Spring Break.
RALF
RALF stands for Remote Attendance Learning Form and is required for all students to complete on their non-campus days. This would be the two days their cohort is assigned to be home and on Fridays.
Each teacher has a link to the RALF in their google classroom. We have also provided a link here to the google form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfTR8ZCRJJKcx4dr5OirHXt_MMjq-7DfyMeuwMeZYsgarna0A/viewform .
Students need to fill out the form for each class they are currently taking. The form needs to be filled out before noon each day to count as being present in classes. If not completed by noon, the student is marked absent for that class period. Students do not need to fill one out for Homeroom as that class is only offered in person.

Meet Our New Staff Member
Elvira Rozen
Hello! My name is Elvira Rozen, I am the new Cultural Liaison for the Meridian School District.
I am very excited to be here and to be able to work with the staff and our Hispanic Community. My role in the District will be to help with the communication between the schools and the Hispanic families.
I have been a Spanish Interpreter for almost fifteen years. I have done Liaison work in the past for the Bellingham School District and the Ferndale School District.
I was born and raised in Lima- Peru. I have been married to my husband, Peter, for 27 years and we have two children.
I love to spend time with my family, I love to cook, I love plants and I love to travel. When the weather gets warmer my husband and I enjoy very much going on motorcycle rides all over the fields and mountains of this beautiful area.
Thank you for having me in the Meridian School District team and I hope to assist you in any way possible.
