FEBRUARY 1, 2023 - NEWSLETTER
SLPHS families,
Last night’s high school/middle school combined choir concert was fantastic. During the performance, Mrs. Phelps, our high school choir director highlighted the many ways choir students are involved at the high school. They are engaged in the arts, athletics, AP and college credit bearing courses, student council, DECA, NHS, etc. It highlighted for me the wealth of opportunities available and the high levels of student engagement.
Registration for next year is open. Students have until Feb. 24 to make their selections. I encourage discussion at home with parents and caregivers, with trusted teachers, counselors and others to help make choices aligned to a student’s plan for their time in high school and beyond. A variety of resources are available online to help support the process.
On Tuesday, February 21, 5-7 p.m., we will hold a curriculum night for families to have the opportunity to come in and learn about classes their student is considering for next year. Course instructors will be available to explain course learning outcomes and student learning experiences as students and families consider courses for next year.
In February, we also offer the following parent-teacher conferencing and communications opportunities. Watch for an email tomorrow with the link to sign up for parent teacher conference times on:
- Thursday, Feb. 16, 4-7 p.m.
- Friday, Feb. 17, 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
Thank you as always for your continued support and partnership. One school, one community, #SLPPantherProud!
