HSSD Construction Update

This publication showcases construction progress made across the district. The projects listed are the result of the successful April 2021 referendum, in which residents voted to approve $98 million in facilities updates at all eight HSSD schools. The walls of the new gym are in progress, and the Area D precast mezzanine has been set and grouted.

• Continuation of new gym walls and kitchen.
• Steel stud framing and drywall.
• In Area B, drywall will wrap up in preparation for paint.
• Finalizing concrete slab preparation. Floors will be added thereafter.

Pictured above and below is overall process of the new gym. The masonry bearing walls of the gym are nearing completion so that structural steel and precast plank can be installed in the fitness and maintenance areas of the addition.

• Continuation of masonry of new gym walls, along with underground plumbing and electrical work.
• In Area D, interior masonry, painting, drywalling.
• In Area C, miscellaneous demolition will continue.
• On the second floor, Verhalen will continue framing new steel stud walls.
• On the first floor, final footings for the structural steel supports.
• Collaboration area will be poured so that structural steel can be set soon after.
