BCE Library News
Library Lady Leak v. 17
Whoomp! Here it is!
Over the summer we had the library open every Wednesday until I returned to work. The first three weeks were extremely slow. Only four students showed each of those days. A wise girl who is now in fourth grade offered sage advice when I asked her how I could entice more people to come to the BCE library. Her advice:
GIVE THEM FOOD AND THEY WILL COME.
While those may not be her exact words, the message came through loud and clear. Amy Jones, our local MacGyver, Jack of all trades, etc., came through with creative ideas like Orange you glad it's summer and Christmas in July. We also had Pop in to the library, s'more books, and more. We had a steadily increasing number of students, parents and grandparents coming by to read, eat, and play games. I want to give a special shout out to Melanie Wilson, Amy Velasquez, and Kim Ottosen for coming and volunteering their time in making the summer library program a success.
