Wind Symphony & Honors Band Extra Rehearsal

Monday, May 17th, 2:30-5:15pm

4405 Hudson Drive

Sachse, TX

Wind Symphony from 2:30-4:00pm.


Honors Band from 4:15-5:15pm.


Please drop off virtual students at the BACK of the school and have them enter through the exterior band hall door (#11).

Symphonic Band Extra Rehearsal

Thursday, May 20th, 4:15-5:45pm

Symphonic Band students must bring their instrument to school on Thursday (it is a B day and different than normal). Virtual students need to be dropped off in the BACK of the school and enter through the exterior band hall door (#11).


8th graders who will also be attending the Movement Camp at Sachse HS are allowed to be late to that camp in order to complete our rehearsal at 5:45pm. Mrs. Becker has already cleared that with Mrs. Taylor.

Second Beginner Band Rehearsal

Friday, May 21st, 1:30-2:45pm

**Please drop off your instrument and band binder in the band hall BEFORE you go to your testing room on Friday.**


All students will bring their backpacks and belongings to the band hall when their class comes down for lunch. They will then go get their lunch from the cafeteria (unless they brought a sack lunch) and will come back to the band hall to eat. After everyone has finished eating, we will start our rehearsal.


We will begin the rehearsal at 1:30pm and end at 2:45pm. Virtual students should be dropped off at the BACK of the school and enter directly through the exterior band hall door (#11). Parents may pick students up after the rehearsal is over. You must TEXT your student that you have arrived (AT THE BACK OF THE SCHOOL, NEAR THE BAND HALL). The student will show us the text, and then we will release them to you to go home.

Extra Concert Ticket Request

On Wednesday, May 19, you will receive an email at 5:00pm with a form to fill out to request extra concert tickets. Each student may request a maximum of 2 extra tickets. There are a limited number of extra tickets available, and we will give them out on a first requested basis based on the timestamp on the form. The number of extra tickets available for each band are as follows:

Beginner Band - 22, Symphonic Band - 28, Honors Band - 36, Wind Symphony - 20


You will be notified on Thursday morning (May 20) if you will be receiving extra tickets and can pick them up on Thursday, May 20 from 4:15-6:00pm and Monday, May 24 from 4:15-5:30pm at the BACK of the school by the exterior band hall door (#11).


**At the concert, seats will be blocked off in groups of 2 per GISD policy. If you request (and receive) extra tickets, you will NOT be guaranteed to sit next to the extra people. We CANNOT change the seating arrangements due to GISD policy. Thank you for understanding!**

Important Concert Info

The Spring Concert is next Tuesday, May 25 at Sachse High School in the auditorium. Student performers have received 2 tickets for the concert (with an option to request more tickets as stated above). Audience members MUST have a ticket to enter the auditorium. (Babies under the age of 2 who will sit WITH an adult do not need a ticket.) No exceptions can be made to this policy.


Student Arrival/Warm-up & Performance Times:

Beginner Band - Arrive at 5:30pm, Perform at 6:00pm

Symphonic Band - Arrive at 6:15pm, Perform at 6:45pm

Honors Band - Arrive at 7:00pm, Perform at 7:30pm

Wind Symphony - Arrive at 7:40pm, Perform at 8:15pm


Students MUST wear their band t-shirt with jeans (or dark pants) for the performance. Audience members MUST WEAR MASKS (per GISD policy), will have their temperatures checked at the door, and must also follow the GISD Clear Bag policy. We will be clearing the auditorium between each performance and will not begin to allow the next audience group in until approximately 10-15 minutes before the scheduled performance time.

Please Pay Instrument Usage Fees ASAP

The $50 per year ($25/semester) fee charged by GISD for students who use a school-owned instrument (oboe, bassoon, bass clarinet, tenor sax, bari sax, French horn, euphonium, and tuba) has now been assessed to your student's Skyward account. The payment for the use of the school instrument was due by March 1, but can be paid online anytime now. You can use a credit card in Skyward or send cash/check (made out to Hudson Middle School) with your student to school. Further details about how to pay online will be sent soon for those who need extra help completing their payment.


**Occasionally, we have students that play other instruments, not listed above, who use a school-owned instrument. The fee has been assessed to those students as well.**
