International Student's opinion about american university
American University Tuition
American university tuition is expensive. The American average university is more than twice as expensive as Japanese average tuition. State university tuition is expensive, not to mention private university tuition, and also compare with European university tuition, the difference is very clear. Some universities in Europe don’t claim tuition from students. However, in America, The average annual university tuition is about $6000 to $9000 for people who live in state, and the average annual university tuition is about $18000 to $27000 for people who live out of state.
When people decide their university, they usually think about their deviation score, rank of university and location of university. However in America, most people need to think about university tuition when they decide about their university. For people who are poor, it is difficult to go to university. They can get scholarships, but most of the scholarships aren’t interest free, and interest is certainly not is low. Therefore, after people who have scholarships graduate from university, they have to work hard to pay back their debt.
The American government should reconsider American university tuition. They should learn from the European education system or they should make a new education system. I hope American university tuition will decrease.

Make food more diverse in the uc
As an international student, I usually feel the food is not normally delicious in the University Center (UC). It is not that I am too picky, it is my digestive system that cannot stomach American food. So, I wish that the UC can begin to make more different foods. For example, students may want other dishes such as Kung Pao Chicken in the UC. Changing the food has three positive points: First, it can help international students to adapt to the American environment. A lot of international students coming to America feel nervous and fearful, if they eat foods that are similar in their hometown, they will think America is similar and they can quickly adapt to the American environment. Second, hometown food can relieve homesickness. I usually miss my hometown very much, because I cannot eat food of my hometown country in America. When I studied at Singapore, I did not miss my hometown very much, because I ate Chinese food at Singapore. If the UC makes food more diverse, then international students will relieve their homesickness. Third, hometown foods can help people adjust their attitude. Based on psychology, if people usually eat the same food in the UC, they will hate that food. But, if the UC has a lot of different foods, people will never hate them. Because of this, I advise that the UC should make food more diverse.

Making use of the international students
Several weeks ago I attended a Chinese class as a volunteer; what shocked me most was that there was no Chinese teacher on our campus. Only five students from America and just one from Japan had the class through a long-distance teaching course. It operated just like a video chat, a teacher in another college delivered the lecture and made assignments.
The internet makes it possible to have classes in a distance classroom. Students learn pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar structures through a microphone and a camera. This may be advantageous to use distant resources, but in my view there are also some weaknesses at the same time. Language is different from other academic subjects; It is a tool to communicate. However, the long-distance education lacks sufficient interaction between teacher and students. There will be less discussion among students, along with the problem that students can’t receive instant feedback from the teacher.
I’m sure it isn’t a phenomena only in Chinese class. As far as I know, in our college there is no French class after last semester because the French teacher quit. However, there are so many resources around us; why not make a good use of them? Every year there will be various international students attending our college; they have spoken their mother language for at least 18 years. In Chinese, there is an idiom which is “don’t seek far and neglect what lies close at hand”. Although I can’t guarantee every international student can be a good teacher, college can make a system to assess them. School can provide some part-time jobs or spare activities for international students, which is
beneficial for both foreign students and native students. Also, It can save expenditure for college and enrich the campus life.

More International Students
Globalization is an unavoidable trend in today’s age. People nowadays have more and more chances to interact with the whole world. Students study abroad to gain more advanced knowledge. Travelers travel all of the world to enrich their experiences. And even a small company starts to consider how to deal with international trade. More interactions happening mean more information exchanges. More information exchanges bring the result that more knowledge and wisdom are shared. As more and more knowledge and wisdom are shared, humans are walking forward together. However, what cannot be ignored is that during the same time that people interact all over the world, cultural differences are shown up.
I think we should accpet more international students to our campus, because international students could better blend into society after graduation. Society is a complex and huge community. There are countless difficulties waiting undergraduate students to experience and overcome. However, these international students know how to deal with difficulties. When they face a problem, they will never easy to give up after they tried. Besides, they have a very high new environmental adaptation skill. They can easily show out their best condition during work once they go to a new company or position relay on their excellent adaptation skill. Also, they familiar with two countries’ culture and it is a huge advantage for them to seek an international job in the future. In conclusion, cultural differences do
have a great impact on international students. And cultural differences are important for international students to build their personalities and increase their competitiveness in the future.
All in all, under the trend of globalization, cultural differences will become more and more general. The effect of cultural differences still is an issue that being debated and discussed. Should people try their best to avoid cultural differences? Or should people encourage and support the existence of cultural differences? Anyway, there is no doubt that it is important and necessary for people to know the effect of cultural differences more deeply in order to answer these questions. Only when people know more about these effects, could they find out efficient ways to help international students to adapt their daily life and study life successfully. Also only when people know more about these effects, they could identify international students’ special values and personalities.
