Definitions
Victim: A person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action.
Hero: A person, typically a man, who is admired for courage or noble qualities.
What is a Gladiator?
A man or woman trained to fight with weapons against other men, women, or wild animals in an arena.
I think gladiators are victims
Reason: I think they are victums because they are either lured into participating or forced depending upon their position in society.
Facts:
-Romans loved to watch gory, bloody fights, so the gladiators died for enjoyment to the people.
-They are usually slaves, criminals, prisoners in war, and some are just people who have no choice because they are having finacial issues.
-They are owned by people called lanista's.
-Emperors expected gladiators to die.
-The gladitorial games lasted all day. The morning was the slaughter of animals, the middle of the day was the execution of criminals, and the end of the day was the combat of gladiators.
- They were sent to a ludus gladiatorius(school for gladiators). Once you were inside, there was no escape.
-They will never see their family or friends again.
-They will be beat at school.
-The gladiators are responsible for their trainors reputation.
