Students this week will be observing Black History Month. Students have been given the task of coming up with a way that the school can honor February as “Black History Month”.

ELA
Weekly Overview
This week in ELA, we started The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. Next week we will continue our assessment of comprehending grade level test (8.RL.3.D); analyzing the development of a theme over the course of a whole text, drawing on textual evidence (8.RL.1.D) culminating in a persuasive paper about theme (8.W.2.A.c). Students will have daily reading, and can choose to do this during or outside of school hours. Please click here to see our daily reading schedule.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE
Students will be wrapping up their unit on waves by the end of the week. They will have a test next week over waves.
This Week's Objectives:
PS.4.A.1: Using mathematical representations to describe a simple model for waves that include how the amplitude of a wave is related to the energy in a wave.
PS.4.A.2: Develop and use a model to describe that waves are reflected, absorbed or transmitted through various mediums.
