Kindergarten 2021-22 Screening
We are planning a brief, in-person screening the week of June 7 for our entering kindergarten students. The screening will focus on early literacy and math skills. The screening will last about 15 minutes and will be given to your child individually by one of our literacy specialists. We will follow the Covid-19 health guidelines, including requiring masks and maintaining social distancing. This screening is not required, but we do encourage you to bring your child for a screening if your circumstances allow.
You can sign up for a convenient screening time by clicking on this sign-up link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050C49AFA62BA0F49-simmons1
You can also reach that sign-up by clicking from our school’s webpage: https://www.hatboro-horsham.org/Domain/11
If your child receives special education services through early intervention and you have already had your child evaluated by the school district, you do not need to have them complete the screening, as the evaluation provides us with even more in-depth information.
If your child attends pre-K at Simmons, we can do the screening during the preschool day if you call Mrs. Doan at 215-420-5702.
News from the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation
On May 15 & 16, 2021 the HHEF, in conjunction with Horsham Township and the Borough of Hatboro, will be hosting the HHEF Walk for Education Weekend.
Featuring two walking routes -- one on the trails of Horsham Township and one on the store-filled sidewalks of Hatboro – the HHEF Walk for Education Weekend will allow participants to stroll along signage filled pathways that will educate them about HHEF supported programs and our generous HHEF sponsors. Participants will also find selfie-stations where they can snap a photo of themselves and post on Facebook to earn a chance to win fun prizes!
You can “Step out” for Education as you enjoy a walk with family, friends, or even solo. Go at your own pace and on your own schedule! There is no required fee to take a walk on our designated routes, but your generous support will help us continue to provide innovative education opportunities for our students…AND you’ll also get a cool event t-shirt!
We hope you will join us!
