Boys Basketball Wins Kaminsky Classic Championship

The Boys Basketball program played in their third tournament championship of the season and brought home the "ship" from the Kaminsky Classic Tournament over the weekend. Our Vikings had three convincing wins over teams from throughout the State. The wins moved the season record to 12-2 for our State ranked Vikings. Congratulations to the varsity boys for a great tournament championship.

Boys Wrestling Medals Eight, Takes Third At GAC Tournament

The Varsity Boys Wreslting program traveled to Warrenton High School to compete in the GAC Tournament on Saturday. The Vikings placed third in the 17 team conference tournament and brought home 8 medalists. Congratulations to Eric Lovelace, Josh Kyle and Ryan Skillington for winning conference championships at their respective weight classes. You can find the results from our eight medalists below.


106lbs - Michael Roberts (8-3) placed 4th and scored 16.0 team points.

113lbs - Eric Lovelace (17-2) placed 1st and scored 27.0 team points.

120lbs - Josh Kyle (21-0) placed 1st and scored 27.0 team points.

132lbs - Nathan Muser (15-2) placed 5th and scored 10.0 team points.

138lbs - Ben Wright (14-6) placed 5th and scored 10.0 team points.

145lbs - Hayden Trezek (19-4) placed 5th and scored 14.0 team points.

195lbs - Cole Litteken (8-12) placed 6th and scored 6.0 team points.

285lbs - Ryan Skillington (18-1) placed 1st and scored 26.0 team points.

Golden Girls & Company Finish Second At Chicagoland

The Golden Girls and Company traveled to the Chicagoland Dance Championship this past weekend and competed against some of the top high school dance programs from across the midwest. The Varsity program finished 2nd in hip-hop and 2nd in jazz behind the defending UDA National Champion. This is the highest finish our GG's & Co have had in the history of the program at Chicagoland. We will have more information from Chicagoland and pictures in next weeks Viking Insider since the event ended late Saturday night. Congratulations to our coaches and dancers on such a strong showing at Chicagoland!

Girls Wrestling Finishes 7th Out Of 48 Teams At Wonder Woman Tournament

This weekend the Girls Wrestling program traveled to Battle High School to compete in the largest girls wrestling tournament in the State. Our ladies had a strong showing against the top programs from across the State by finishing 7th in the 48 team field. Congratulations to Emily Eberwine, Danielle Lindsey and Alyssa Miller for medaling at the tournament. Up next for the girls program is the GAC Tournament on Wednesday. Congratulations on a great tournament!


Emily Eberwine (19-2) placed 2nd and scored 32.5 team points.

Danielle Lindsey (14-3) placed 6th and scored 13.5 team points.

Alyssa Miller (18-2) placed 2nd and scored 32.5 team points.

Heismeyer Attends U.S. Army National Combine

This past weekend junior Drake Heismeyer traveled to San Antonio, Texas for the 2019 U.S. Army National Football Combine. The event hosted 600 of the top football players from across the country. The National Combine is held annually in association with the All-American Bowl. The National Combine is the first opportunity for the nation’s top underclassmen to demonstrate their physical talent and compete against one another before high school and college football’s top scouting organizations, as well as the All-American Bowl Selection Committee. Congratulations to Drake for representing Howell at the national level!

Sam Thompson & Matt Schark Make All-Tournament Team

Congratulations to Matt Schark and Sam Thompson for being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Kaminsky Classic hosted by Joplin High School this past weekend. Matt averaged 25 points a game over the course of the three game tournament while Sam averaged 12.3 per game.

Mandatory Spring Sports Eligibility Parent Meeting Set For February 13th

The spring season sports eligibility parent meeting has been set for February 13th. All students planning on participating in a spring sport must attend this meeting with a parent. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion of the evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students participating in a fall MSHSAA sponsored activity must have this completed prior to the first day on February 25th. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the sports eligibility event on February 13th. To ensure participation on February 25th all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than Thursday, February 21st at noon. A link to all eligibility paperwork can be found below.
