NEED SOME HELP DURING THE WINTER MONTHS?

Nurse's Corner - Head Lice

The topic of head lice can make us all feel a little......itchy. Here are some helpful facts about head lice and nits (lice eggs):

  • Head lice move by crawling and cannot jump or fly.
  • Head lice are mostly spread by direct head-to-head contact -- for example, during play at home, sleepovers, sports activities, or camp. Lice are not frequently passed in the school setting.
  • Head lice do not pass diseases.
  • The Boise School District does not require students to leave school if they have lice. Parents or guardians may choose to pick up a student to start treatment immediately, but students do not have to stay home because of lice or nits.
Please feel free to contact Nurse Jenny if you have questions or concerns about treating head lice for your student.

November Character Trait "I Care" (Compassion & Empathy)

We are working through our Grizzly PRIDE acronym. During the month of November, we will be discussing "I Care" and Compassion. When we talk about "I Care" this month, we will be focusing on Compassion and Empathy.

We will be talking about how to understand how others feel, which will motivate us to do what is right. When children understand and care about what others need, they have better relationships at school and it lays the groundwork for good relationships throughout their lives.
