Fluency Poem of the Week
Looking for ways to up your student's fluency? Each night have them read our fluency poem 1 time (and for an added boost, pull out the spelling list and read list A one night, list B another, list C a third)
I ate too much turkey,
I ate too much corn,
I ate too much pudding and pie,
I'm stuffed up with muffins
And much too much stuffin',
I'm probably going to die.
I'm full of tomatoes
And French fried potatoes,
My stomach is swollen and sore,
But there's still some dessert,
So I guess it won't hurt
If I eat just a little bit more
Class News
Greetings
So far the students have learned about Mexico , Japan, and Italy. This week we are learning about France. Here is the Smore they reseaarch on: https://www.smore.com/kqv2fs. You are welcome to look at it as well:)
Math
The class is doing a great job with skip counting! This week we will wrap up out study of clocks and skip county by 5s, 10s, anf 100s.
Read Aloud
Every 2 weeks we read a set of books that have a theme. Right now we are reading a set of books about courage. The class is seeing, hopefully, that courage is not always big actions, like running into a buring building, but that small acts of courage can happen every day, talking infront of a crowded room, saying hello for the first time, and being true to yourself.
Homework Books
Also parents if you are struggling to find books for your student to read here is an online resource. You may need to hunt around for what works for your child, but there are lots of options. https://portal.flyleafpublishing.com/learners-resources/
