Introduction

The leatherback turtle is sometimes called the lute turtle,is the largest of all living turtle.The leatherback turtle is named for its unique shell which is made of a layer of thin, tough, rubbery skin, strengthened by thousands of tiny bone plates that makes it look leathery.It can be easily different shape from other sea turtle by its bony shell.

Why they matter?

Leatherback turtle consume a large amount of jellyfish which help to keep populations of these marine organisms in check.Pacific populations have declined over the last twenty years from over harvesting and interaction with fisheries.

Threats

Leatherback turtles feed on jellyfish,making them mistaken swallow the plastic bag floating in the ocean which can kill them.

Conservation

We can conserve them by not throwing plastic bag and balloon into the sea
