Help Needed for Johnson Families

Within the last two weeks we have had two Johnson families have total home loss fires. In short, these two families have lost everything.

For both families, house related needs include:

Household items

kitchen items


bathroom supplies

hygiene items


For Rodney Mack's family--

The Mack family has created a Go Fund Me account for monetary donations at

Mom & Dad have purchased items for their students but still need the following

clothing needs:

Dad sizes – 3-4X shirts, 48 waist 36 length jeans or sweats, size 12.5-13 tennis shoes and socks

Mom sizes – 10/12 size jeans, size large in yoga or sweat pants, L-XL shirts, 8.5 tennis shoes and socks

For Anonymous family,

The second family has asked to remain anonymous. Monetary donations for this family can be delivered to the Johnson Main Office/Ms. Shawn or Ms. Conyers.

Infant – 0-3 month boy clothing

Mom 9/10 women’s clothing, needing size 8 ladies shoes

Dad 32x30 pants, size 8 men’s shoes

We have limited storage space for donations but can house items in the basement until families can pick up. Both families indicate they have storage ability for furniture etc. so if you have a larger donation, I can assist with your connection with the families.

*Johnson will be collecting contributions through 1/26/18 (2 weeks).

Tis the season for sniffles and sneezes. Many classrooms are out of tissues and other simple supplies. Please take a moment to see if there is anything you can help provide for our students and staff. Drop off in the main office prior to January 12, 2018. Thank you!

Spring 2018 JSA Enrichment Term: (11 Week program)

Week of Jan. 22 Registration flyers and enrollment forms sent home with students

  • Jan. 25 Enrollment forms due back from families

  • Feb. 1 Confirmation notes sent home

  • Week of Feb. 5 Spring Enrichments begin

* No AFTER school Enrichment classes Thurs. Feb.15 & Tues. Feb 20 - due to conferences

  • Week of April 23 (most) Spring Enrichments end

*NOTE: Some enrichments continue into May (such as EIAA class—Adv. Dance) –see registration materials and individual enrichment class schedules for more information

Winter Gear and Clothing Organizer- an hour once a week or once bi-weekly to help insure our small storage space in the clinic is orderly. Anytime between 9am-3pm Monday-Friday is available.

Snack Helper Needed- Monday-Friday @ 9:45am for about 20 minutes to count out snacks into classroom buckets and deliver them to classrooms

Reading Buddies Needed- 1 hour a week working with students on reading


*Magazines- We will be doing a few different projects soon that involve magazines, please bring them to Room 105.

*Plastic lids- Any plastic lid that is washed and ready. Milk jug, cottage cheese, juice, Gatorade. The more colorful the better! No clear lids, please.
