Friend of Education 2018
I am excited to announce that this year our staff has selected Wendy Canaday as our Friend of Education! Wendy has been a parent at Deerfield for several years. Each year she becomes more and more involved in supporting our students and staff. She is an advocate who strongly supports our hard working students and staff. Like many of us, Wendy, is a busy, working parent, but she finds time to take on some of the biggest jobs at Deerfield, including organizing our school carnival and heading our fund raiser. If not organizing an even, she definately has a voice and hand in making them a success! Wendy, Thank you from the bottom of our heart for all that you do for us! Congratulations on being selected as our Deerfield Friend of Education!
Wendy will be recognized along with all other school "Friends" will be recognized at the Friends of Education Ceremony on Wednesday, November 15!
Morning Traffic
- Have your child ready to exit the car (with all their materials, backpack etc)
- Advance with the traffic when the crossing guard directs you to do so.
- Do not stop at the stop sign to drop off your child if the crossing guard is signaling for you to advance. Instead, advance to the end of the circle drive, then have your child exit the car.
- Have your child exit your car at whatever point the traffic guard has stopped traffic.

Head Lice Alert
Cases of head lice at Deerfield are being reported. According to the Centers for Disease Control there are apx. 6-12 million cases of head lice reported each year in the United States! Because head lice are so common in school age children it can be difficult to prevent making education about this topic the BEST method to control these pests. Families are the most important part of controlling the spread of head lice in school. Here is a helpful link on head lice.
