Timothy Ball News August 26-31
Welcoming all. Believing in all. Growth for all.
WE ARE OFF TO A GREAT START
It has been a fantastic opening week at Timothy Ball! Early in the year, our teachers will be working hard to build important relationships with our students and establish communication with parents and guardians. The communication between home and school is crucial to student success, and our teachers are ready to partner with you. If at any time you have questions or concerns please call me at 663-0047 or email me at nciochina@cps.k12.in.us. We look forward to working with your student and creating a happy, safe, and engaging environment to foster a lifelong love of learning.
I want to invite our parents and guardians to our Parent Education Nights next week. The dates and information can be found below. These sessions are unique to each grade level and will help provide information to help you support your child for a successful year. We look forward to seeing you there!
Safety is our number 1 priority at Timothy Ball. Today we practiced our Fire Drill and our students and staff did an amazing job. We are continually working toward expanding our partnership with the Crown Point Police and Fire Departments. We are excited to have meaningful opportunities to collaborate with our first responders and we appreciate their presence at our school!

Social-Emotional News from Mrs. Holok
Welcome back! I hope you all had a relaxing summer. We are all looking forward to a wonderful year at Timothy Ball! Many people ask, “What does a school counselor do?” A school counselor assists administrators, teachers, and other school staff in promoting appropriate and healthy child development, learning strategies, self-management, and social skills. School counselors do not work alone, but rather play an integrative role within the total educational program at their respective school.
School counselors work with students on such topics as:
- Feelings
- Friendships
- Goal setting
- Grief
- Stress
- Coping Skills
School counselors also collaborate in indirect student services by providing students and their families with resources within the community for additional assistance and information when needed. My title is Home School Facilitator, but my role here is one of a school counselor. If you ever have any questions or concerns that I may assist you with, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Let’s make it a great year!
