Neshaminy HS and 1st grade collaboration
As part of the AP Environmental Science end of the year project, six students researched the prevalence of Lead exposure in our area. One student, Alyssa P., has had personal experience with this issue as her Mom teachers in Trenton where estimates of student exposure is 50%! The students wanted to raise awareness in her Mom’s kindergarten class. This evolved to more of an education program for K-1 on what foods are healthy and help the body reduce its absorption of lead. They have designed some characters that represents clean water and the lead to help students get the message.
