Madison Cares thanks you
A big thank you to all the students that came out to make fleece blankets to benefit Project Linus. We made and donated 40 blankets to Edwards and Central DuPage Hospitals. We also donate 29 birthday bags to the People’s Resource Center in Wheaton.
Many thanks to the volunteers that helped with this service project: Terry Bagley, Geena Caputo, Dawn Draus, Paula Duebener, Shannon Klopfenstein, Terri McCue, Amy Schmidt and Anne Valente. We couldn’t do it without you!
Looking Ahead: Join us Mon., Feb. 23 during the recess portion of your lunch hour in the LLC to make posters for all our St. Baldrick’s participants!
Nominating committee to be elected at February PTA meeting
By the end of June, Janet Mathis, Robyn Beres and Amy Fiorato will have served their terms as co-president, vice president of ways and means, and secretary. We will be looking to fill these positions. If you're interested in helping to find people to serve in these roles, please contact Janet Mathis, janetmarkmathis@yahoo.com or Julie Ippolito, julieippolito3@yahoo.com.
We need five people to be on the nominating committee, plus two alternates. Nominating committee members must have been a member of the PTA for at least 30 days by the time of the Feb. 19 meeting. The nominating committee will report its nominees at the March general membership meeting.

Order Market Day to support Madison
Have you ever ordered from Market Day? You should try it if you haven't yet.
Many Madison families enjoy healthy convenient, restaurant-quality food products from the same vendors that supply many upscale restaurants.
"Our family loves the seasoned salmon. It makes for an easy, good-for-you dinner. All the frozen veggies we've tried are tasty and quick. We also like the ready-made cookie dough. You can take a few out of the freezer at a time and have fresh-from-the-oven cookies after school," says the Mathis family.
Not only are Market Day products are competitively priced, but Madison PTA earns profit on all purchases. Last year Madison raised nearly $2,000, which helped fund Multicultural Day, Explore More Day and many other important events for our students.
It's easy to order online at marketday.com or return the Order Guide to school. Online orders for the February sale are due by 11 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 13. Pickup is right after school on Wed. Feb. 18 from 3:30-4 p.m.
This month the Kammerzell family is ordering its monthly supply of French toast sticks (Andrew cannot live without), as well as trying new items like meatballs, a turkey roast, egg rolls, and Li'L bagel dogs.
Join us in ordering new items or the old standbys and send us your reviews. We'll use your quote in the next Memos.
See you at pick up on Feb. 18!
Kindergarten Roundup is coming!
If you have a child who will be five on or before Sept. 1, 2015, we will be hosting a Parent Meeting on Mon., March 2 at 7:00 p.m. Pre-registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. This “parent only” event is a great way to become acquainted with kindergarten at Madison Elementary, meet the staff members, and have your questions answered. Please pass this information to any friends or neighbors with a potential kindergartener. Please call the school office at 630-682-2095 to add your child’s name to our kindergarten list.

Multicultural Day help needed
Yes… we're already looking ahead to next fall! So many volunteers have already said "yes" for next school year's Multicultural Day, but we need a couple of people who are willing to put it all together. If you'd like to make a huge difference in the lives of Madison students, please contact Julie Ippolito, julieippolito3@yahoo.com, or Janet Mathis, janetmarkmathis@yahoo.com.
Parents and staff: join Madison PTA Facebook group
With 170 members and growing, Madison PTA Wheaton, IL Facebook group has become a good way to share information about Madison PTA happenings. Any Madison parent/guardian or staff member may join the closed group. You'll find fun pictures, reminders and news. Madison Memos continues to be Madison PTA's main source for information, as it reaches all parents and staff.
