TBI in the School Setting: Return to Learn
Join us for a Day with Dr. Karen McAvoy, PsyD!
Students returning to the classroom after concussion face many learning difficulties and pose unique challenges to the staff who support them. This timely professional learning opportunity will give school staff of all roles the confidence, knowledge, and tools needed to support these students according to recognized best practice. Additionally, attendees will return to their buildings with the ability to coach colleagues in the strategies and skills learned. This day of professional learning will be led by Dr. Karen McAvoy, PsyD, an internationally recognized expert on pediatric brain injury and the co-founder of the website Get Schooled on Concussions.com. As a dually credentialed clinical and school psychologist, and author of brain injury policy for the Colorado Department of Education, Dr. McAvoy will prepare you and your school team to best serve students returning to learn after a concussion.
