Test Corrections
Students at DMS in middle-school level math courses have the option of making corrections on Chapter Tests. Test corrections are not available at DHS, and therefore are not available in Algebra I (high-school level) courses at DMS.
- Available on Chapter Tests (assignments that count in the “Summative Assessment” category in the Realtime Parent Portal Grade Book). Corrections are not available in other grading categories, such as formative assessments, classwork, or computational fluency.
- Corrections must be completed in the student’s handwriting.
- Corrections must show all work for the problem.
- Corrections must be completed on a separate sheet of paper. No credit will be given for erasures or corrections made directly on the original test paper.
- Corrections are due by the deadline set by each classroom teacher. Credit will not be given for corrections handed in after the deadline.
- Corrections must be correct to receive credit.
- Students who complete corrections in the manner outlined will be able to earn back up to ¼ of the points missed on the percentage grade. Their percentage grade will be adjusted to reflect this.
- For example, a student who earns an 80% and completes corrections as outlined will have their grade changed to an 85%, earning back ¼ of the 20 points originally missed.
