Eagle Academy Virtual Parent Meeting
Eagle Academy had another successful bi-weekly parent meeting online to keep parents in the loop. Here is the link to this week's Power Point presentation.
Our virtual schedule
- Each class period will meet once per week from 9-10 or 11-12, Tuesday thru Thursday.
- Mondays and Fridays are check-in days. Students are expected to contact their teachers for any help they need, or for work they have missed.
Class times are not the only times students are expecting to be working. Teachers give assignments and follow-up work that is expected to be done during other than class times.
Please be sure to attend all live classes with your teachers!
Parents, would you like a Weekly report card?
It’s a weekly snapshot of how your child is doing in each class. Google classroom automatically generates a parent/guardian email report. It includes work done, not done, any grades, etc. in all of the student’s Google classes. Parents & guardians will be getting an invitation from Google classroom in your email in-box. Simply respond to the email and you’ll start getting those reports. If you don’t see an email invite check your spam folder. Or, it could be we don’t have your correct email address. Please contact Director Smith if you would like another invite sent.
As always, parents should also check the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus for up-to-date grades in all their child's classes.

Celebrating May birthdays!
Enzo and Aiden have the same birthday! "What are the chances?" you might ask. How many people do you think need to be in a room for two of them to have the same birthday? Well, two, of course! But for it to actually be statistically likely, how many people need to be in the room? Take a guess, then watch this video to find out why it is probably not what you think!

Puppies, Puppies, Puppies!
Ms. Giaconia recently adopted Toby, a seven-week-old shih tzu. This is the third new puppy for Eagle staff.
Did you recently adopt a new pet? How about a picture of the pets you already have? Text or email one to Teacher Smith (or any other teacher) and it will be in next week's newsletter!

When she asked him for advice on how to finish out the school year, the turtle replied, "Slow and steady wins the race."
Send us some pictures of the wildlife or scenery you've seen lately!
Missing the Library?
History Movie Night
USI: The Lost Batallion is an excellent movie about a group of American troops in WWI. It is available for free on YouTube. Another great WWI movie is 1917.
USII: The Reagan Era has been depicted in countless war-pumping films, such as Top Gun , Red Dawn, Rambo and The Hunt for Red October. For pop-culture fans, Ferris Bueller's Day Off , Indiana Jones, and Back to the Future movies are all worth your time.
World Cultures: Now that we are studying WWII, there is more film and television footage than any person can watch. Of course, the greatest WWII movie of all time is Saving Private Ryan. If you have more time, watch the entire Band of Brothers and The Pacific series on HBO.
School Nurse Newsletter (Happy Nurse's Day!)
Even though we are currently not in the office we are checking our emails regularly throughout the week. We are also checking the voicemails left in the office. Any questions or concerns with regards to medical inquiries please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Keeping You and Your Family Safe.
While we are learning more about this virus every day, there is still much that is unknown at this time. What we do know is that practicing hand hygiene and social distancing is imperative. Social distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people to avoid spreading illness. Staying at least six feet away from other people lessens your chances of catching COVID-19. What does this mean for you?
1. Wash your hands as often as you can (Remember to sing the ABC’s or Happy Birthday song)
2. Refrain from large gatherings
3. Be proactive in your health and well-being
4. Practice prevention
