Newtons 100
TNT- Allie Dopp and Lauren Stanfill's science project
Newton's first law
Inertia;
tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged: "bureaucratic inertia"Inertia is the main word for Newton's first law. This law applies to our car because we had to wind up the back axel to get it to move. If we hadn't wound up the back axel our car would have never moved.
Newton's second law
Newton's second law has the main equation F=MA (force equals mass times acceleration). force to be equal to the differential change in momentum per unit time as described by the calculus of mathematics. This applies to our car because all of the weight was equal. And the wheels were level and that's what made our car finally work.
Newton's third law
With every action theres an opposite and equal reaction. This applies to our car because if we twist the rubber band toward us, it moves forward but if we twist it the other way, it goes backwards
Data
Trial 1
our car went 1 meter in 103.3 seconds per centimeter
Trial 2
our car went 1 meter in 36.8 seconds per centimeter
Trial 3
we didn't get the chance to do a third trial, sorry
Analysis
our cars slowest speed was 103.3 seconds per centimeter. our cars fastest speed was 36.8 seconds per centimeter. each time the car traveled 1 meter
Reflection
in this science project i learned Newton's three laws of force. i learned inertia, witch means that an object will stand still and remain motionless until an external force moves it. i also learned F=MA (force equals mass times acceleration). i also learned that with every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
