MEET THE PRINCIPAL
We are thrilled to announce the hiring of LISA EVANS as the school start-up coordinator and director! Her background provides a wealth of experience in elementary education and the arts.
Lisa Evans has been an administrator in the charter school system in Las Vegas, Nevada for seven years. Before becoming an administrator, she taught for fifteen years as an elementary teacher. She has also been an Instructional Coach, has worked with the curriculum department as a Literacy Professional Development presenter, and has served as a member of the kindergarten committee unwrapping Common Core state standards.
Mrs. Evans earned a bachelors in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a masters in Special Education. She has also received her Master’s in Leadership and Administration.
Lisa Evans loves working with students, teachers, and parents and finds joy in learning about them. She believes the most effective structure in a school is to empower the staff and students to find their strength and to become a leader in that area.
She is honored to share her joy of the arts with the students and families. The arts integration that Advantage Arts Academy will provide can help students thrive in their education journey as stated in the quote by Benjamin Franklin “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” The art integration learning model will involve the students in a way that will support lifelong learning.
We are happy to announce that construction is underway!
You will start to see the school rise from the ground as masonry work moves forward. Blocks have arrived onsite and the masonry crew began work this week. It will be exciting to see the building rise and take shape over the next month. Steel will follow shortly after to complete the flooring and roof structures. Crews can then move inside to begin interior work on classrooms, offices, the library, and the gym. We are ahead of schedule on the construction at this point and anticipate a completed building ready and waiting in July. We are pleased that the administration, teachers, and staff can be in the building in time to set up classrooms and prepare to give your child the best education possible right from the start.
We’re excited to see this building come together! Drive by and show your children their new school where they will learn through the four aspects of the Arts - drama, dance, visual arts, and music.
