WMS Weekly Warrior
Week of 3-25
Principal's Post
Good afternoon WMS,
Happy Spring to everyone! Hopefully this latest storm didn’t dampen your spring enthusiasm. If the old saying holds true, we will see the lamb side of March as the month comes to an end. Spring sports are up and running and March Madness is in full swing. Warm weather can’t be far behind!
I had the fortunate pleasure of attending the New England League of Middle Schools annual conference this past week in Providence. The conference theme of Mindful in the Middle: Make Every Day Awesome resonated loudly for me as it touched on many topics our teachers and students face every day. Particularly a focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and building relationships. Each day our students should look forward to coming to school knowing they will be safe and supported in their academics and social emotional learning. We look forward to implementing programs that support these ideas.
The WMS/PIM school store is now open! Returning are some of the favorite items that were included in the fall as well as few new items for the spring. The link for the store is below. Please order soon as the store will close on April 5th.
Mr. Gorski’s Ukulele and drumming classes held an in school concert enjoyed by many students and parents. Students paired up in duets and small groups to perform some popular favorites. Drumming classes performed a Brazilian Samba that surely rocked the room. Please see the photos and the video links below.
Members of the WMS Alliance presented a proposal to Dr. O, Region 14 Superintendent, citing the need to beautify the girl’s locker rooms. The four members presented a plan to paint and clean the locker rooms improving our school appearance.
Warrior Council will host its annual March Madness Friday, March 29th from 7-9. The Council is looking for bottles of drinking water to be donated. Since this will be the only beverage offered, Warrior Council is in need of 500 bottles of drinking water. Donated items may be brought directly to the school.
