Theology of the Body (or TOB)
HOME PLATE 2023 - WITH THE DETROIT TIGERS - SIGN UP BY JANUARY 31ST!!
Please join us this year on June 10th for our annual Home Plate Detroit event!
This annual outing is a Christian outreach event that includes a baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and the Arizona Diamondbacks, an on-field baseball clinic, and the athletes speaking about their careers in professional sports and their faith in Jesus Christ.
This year’s speakers are pitchers Matthew Boyd and Will Vest, outfielder Kerry Carpenter, retired Tiger Frank Tanana, and retired Detroit Lion Jason Hanson.
Last year’s event was a huge success. We had a great time participating in this community adventure sharing the day’s events, lots of laughs, and a great time making memories together!

STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS FOR DECEMBER '22
PK:
Thomas Uppleger- Thomas is creative, thoughtful and funny! He likes to play imagination games, and it's awesome to watch the things he can come up with. He is great at including all friends in whatever he is playing. Thomas is a hard worker! He works on his work with intent until it is finished just the way he likes. Thomas makes our classroom more joyful and he is a pleasure to have in class.
Matthew LeTarte- Matt is sweet, kind and very independent. He likes to try things by himself, and puts a lot of focus and effort into anything he does. He is always up for a new challenge and loves trying new things! Matt is a great helper to his friends! Matt has helped friends put on shoes, gloves, jackets and more. I have really enjoyed having Matt in class for the second year in a row.
Remi Walker- Remi is so kind, sweet, and thoughtful. She is always helping her friends and teachers in class! She loves to wipe the table, straighten the books and help in any way. Remi loves doing things that are a little challenging for her. She works hard to figure things out before asking for help. Remi is a great listener and I usually do not have to ask her to do things twice. I have really enjoyed having Remi in my class.
Elizabeth Bryson is an imaginative first grader. She is a deep thinker who gives a lot of thought to her responses. Elizabeth's favorite food is purple grapes. Her favorite thing about school is Religion, because it teaches her about God. When Elizabeth grows up, she wants to be a zookeeper or a veterinarian for birds. Her favorite animals are cheetahs and dolphins
Lilly Braun is a sweet and bubbly first grader! She is always thinking about others. Lilly's favorite food is really, really cheesy macaroni and cheese. Her favorite thing about school is playing with her little brother, Wyatt, at recess. When Lilly grows up, she wants to be a mom with four kids! She is most excited about making food for her children. :)
2ND GRADE:
Lacey Scott is in the second grade. Lacey's favorite food is pizza, and her favorite drink is Sierra Mist. Her favorite color is purple. She enjoys playing soccer and she is on the bowling team. Lacey has a beautiful voice and sings with the school's choir. One of her favorite vacations is when she went to Splash Village in Frankenmuth with her family. She really liked swimming in the water and going shopping at her favorite stores. I'm so proud of Lacey and all of her hard work. Keep up the good work.
Lincoln Tucker is in the second grade. His favorite foods are spaghetti, pizza, and nachos. Lincoln plays football, baseball, wrestling, and sings in the school choir. His favorite colors are green and red. Lincoln's favorite family vacation was when they went to Marco Island in Florida. He enjoyed going to the beach where they had different activities for the kids. He liked making donuts and a tie-dye shirt. Lincoln is such a hard worker in the classroom. Keep up the great work.
3RD GRADE:
One of our star student for 3rd grade is Ava DeMeulenaere. When Ava grows up she wants to be a veterinarian because she loves animals! She has two dogs that she helps take care of at home. Ava’s favorite snack is sliced apples. Her favorite subject in school is reading! In her free time, Ava dances and plays bitty ball. Ava was a baker and a mouse in the Nutcracker. Ava enjoys drawing and coloring. When she colors, he likes to use purple which is his favorite color. Ava loves it here at Holy Cross and we are lucky to have her part of our HC family!
Our other star student for 3rd grade is Lydia Zammit. When Lydia grows up, she also wants to be a veterinarian. If she gets a sweet treat at home, she loves Gushers®! In her free time, Lydia likes to run and exercise with her family. She really enjoys going on the River Trail! Lydia also plays soccer and she plans to play soccer even when she is older! She is very athletic! In school, her favorite subjects are music and art! In art, Lydia prefers to use her favorite color which is pink. Holy Cross is blessed to have Lydia as a part of our community.
4TH GRADE:
Blake Paton is a very kind young man. He joined the Holy Cross family as a third grader. He has a sister, Stella, who is a second grader here at Holy Cross. At home, he has a Frenchy (dog), named Stewie. Stewie is loved SO much. Outside of school, Blake has taken up boxing. He is currently practicing the "speed bag". In the classroom, he is a model student, who is always happy, friendly, considerate, and academically driven! His favorite food is pizza, his favorite color is yellow, and he loves Star Wars! I am so proud to call Blake my student.
6TH GRADE:
Elliana Enderby- Ella is a very hardworking, intelligent young lady, with an outgoing personality. She has a good heart and a very Christian attitude towards everyone. She is caring and will always help others when they need it.
Jack Gormley- Jack is an outgoing, young man, with a boisterous personality and easygoing manner. While new to Holy Cross, it seems like he has always been with us. He works hard to do well and has the ability to reach whatever goals he sets for himself.
8TH GRADE:
Micah Arlow is an 8th grade student and attends CMC for math class. He will attend CMC for high school. Micah is a member of NJHS and has been since the 6th grade. Micah plays basketball, runs track and cross country. Micah’s favorite subject is ELA and he enjoys reading science fiction books. His favorite band is Weezer. When Micah is not in school, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family. If given the opportunity to travel anywhere in the world, he would travel to Italy, so he could visit the Vatican. Micah puts great effort into his studies, is helpful and caring, and he is honest. I enjoy teaching Micah because he is eager to learn and curious.
Amelia Morgulec is an 8th grade student and attends CMC for math and French. Amelia has been a student at Holy Cross for 2 years. She is involved in NJHS, cheer, tennis, and volleyball. When Amelia is not in school, she enjoys hanging out with friends and watching Netflix. Amelia’s favorite subject in school is ELA and she enjoys romance novels. If given the opportunity to visit anywhere in the world, she would visit Skopelos, Greece because it is beautiful. Amelia is very funny, outgoing, and she enjoys being involved in activities. I enjoy teaching Amelia because she has great insight and adds to our conversations.
