CHIPPEWA STONG
Why We Are Coming Together:
Tragedy after tragedy, the community has come together to support one another. We are looking to build resilience and inspire hope in individuals and our community.
Join us for Chippewa Strong: A FREE Two-Part Community resilience! The first part focuses on education, where Denise Olsen, a national keynote speaker, shares her journey to assist others in healing unseen wounds and empowering others to create a life they love living after the loss on 9/11 of her husband, firefighter Jeff Olsen.

Here is some more information about the CHIPPEWA STRONG events:
January 30th:
Time: 4:30-7pm
Location: Heyde Center for the Arts
Brief Description: This is a more serious event. We will have people arrive and get a free dinner at 4:30. The keynote speaker will be from 5-6 to talk about community resilience. There will then be breakout discussions that take place afterwards. (The keynote speaker is Denise Olsen- Her husband was a firefighter that died during the 9/11 events. She talks about defining resiliency and uses the acronym of GRACE (gratitude, radical acceptance and utilization, action, community, emergent immortalization). She says to see the strength in the community along with the struggles. She talks about how the community supported others with random acts of kindness after 9/11.)
May 5th:
Time: 5-8pm
Location: Northern Wisconsin State Fair Grounds
Brief Description: This is a more fun community bonding event. We are looking at an uplifting way to start the event to gear towards community bonding. There will then be several choices to learn about self care with possible choices such as massages, yoga, mindfulness, acupuncture, equine therapy, zumba, art therapy, etc..
These are NOT school events. This is a community event.

Halmstad CONTEST WINNERS
I Like to Play Games with My Family CONTEST WINNERS!
(For kids in grades K-5)
WHY? Research shows that play can help kids build trust, build a sense of self-esteem, teach positive social skills, regulate emotions, encourage positive communication, process trauma, and reduce anxiety. Board games foster a face-to-face interaction needed to connect deeply with each other and to develop traits of strong families.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Here is a list of who will be getting trained in Youth Mental Health First Aid on February 20th. 8-10:30am: Work time to finish your pre-work 10:30am - Virtual Session begins 12:00pm-12:45pm Lunch Break 12:45pm-Virtual Session resumes 3:30-Virtual session ends
What do you need to do when you get an e-mail from YMHFA CONNECT or your facilitator?
Step 1: Accept the MHFA Connect invite that you will be getting and create your account
Step 2: Your presenter will register you, and then your pre-work will become available (typically within 24-48 hours)
Step 3: Please complete your 2 hours of pre-work before you attend the training (There is time set aside on February 20th, or you can do it on your own at your convenience. It is your choice)
Common Q & A about the pre-work:
Q: I have created my account but I don't see the pre-work, where is it?
A: Once you create your account in the MHFA Connect platform, you will need to wait for your presenter to register you and then the pre-work will become available in your account.
Q: Where do I go on the day of February 20th?
A: You may stay in your classroom or office
Q: Can I break up the 2 hours into smaller chunks of time?
A: Yes! And your presenter can see your progress on your pre-work as you go, so they can tell you if you still have things left to complete or if you are done. This is an option if you choose to do the pre-work on your own.
Q: What if I do not get the pre-work done in time before February 20th?
A: We do have a back-up plan built in. From 8am-10am on February 20th is built in work time to complete your pre-work. You will not be able to join the virtual learning session until the pre-work is completed.
Q: How do I know if the pre-work is done?
A: It will say 64% complete on your dashboard when you are done with your pre-work. That means that you are done with 9 of the 14 modules.
Q: What will the day look like on February 20th?
A: Here is an example of what the schedule for the day will look like: (Break times will be added in)

What is a Professional Coach?
As a professional striving to be your BEST, you may seek someone at times to help you achieve a goal or improve your performance. A coach is there to help with professional development in areas such as organizational skills, leadership development, communication skills, and work/life balance. Important questions to ask yourself as you start the coaching process are: "What do I want to get out of this? What abilities and skill sets do I want to discover and master? How do I want to show up differently so I am my BEST?
A BESTology Professional Coach can also help you navigate setting up EAP resources.
