Adler Youth Voice Project
Be heard
Why a Youth Voice Project?
And despite all of this, teens still think Museums suck.
Which is why the Adler Planetarium has decided to finally put teen voices in museum and community spaces. And students on The Adler Youth Voice Project will be those first voices. If you want to be read, heard, and recognized by the hundreds of thousands of people who interact with the Adler Planetarium every year, then apply for The Adler Youth Voice Project today!
Who Can Sign Up?
No previous nonfiction or creative writing experience is necessary. No museum or science programming experience is necessary. The Adler Planetarium is particularly interested in accepting teens who will be able to tell stories using new and diverse perspectives. Students of Color and LGBTQ+ Students are highly encouraged to apply.
If you have any questions about your eligibility, feel free to email us. Otherwise, you should apply here!
What Will I Get By Joining?
Along with having your voice heard by a national audience, teen program participants will receive:
- A $150 Stipend
- Free Admission to the Adler Planetarium during the duration of the program, including access to exhibits and shows
- Instruction on nonfiction and scientific communication
- Feedback on writing from professional editors and writers
- Transit passes
Additionally, studies have shown that teens who write outside of school have better communication skills, higher SAT and ACT scores, and increase their understanding of cultural and social topics!
