EXCITING NEWS!
WEEKLY, ON-CAMPUS RAPID TESTING COMING SOON!
Contracting with Heluna Health will have added benefits for a couple of reasons:
- They will perform RAPID TESTS (saliva) for a result in 10-15 minutes AND if a student tests positive with that test they will follow it up with the lab PCR test.
- Parents will REGISTER JUST ONE TIME AND PROVIDE CONSENT ONLINE JUST ONE TIME FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR so that, even if you cannot be on campus for the testing, your child can be tested. I will give the link to follow and you will take it from there! Only registered children with consent on file will be able to be tested.
-Registration will be done ahead of time AND just one time so no forms to fill out on the day of testing.
-Did I mention it's free to you and the school?!
I am finalizing paperwork and logistics with them and hope
to have this started VERY SOON!
PLEASE WATCH THE SPARTAN MAIL FOR UPDATES!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS ABOUT COVID AND KEEPING EACH OTHER HEALTHY!
In so many ways, our families and personnel stepped up to make this a safe transition back to in-person learning:
- Many of our families who traveled or had children who were feeling unwell followed our guidelines and had their children remain home this first week back and their proactive steps helped to keep everyone else safe.
- We had a very successful turn-out for the on-campus Covid testing for students who did not meet the criteria for required testing, were asymptomatic, but chose to test anyway to be sure and as a result, we were able minimize Covid exposure on campus.
- The vast majority of our students transitioned immediately to the recommended surgical or N/KN95 masks as an additional level of prevention
- Families have donated child-sized masks so that we always have them available when students need them.
- Teacher shifted the way they planned for teaching and minimized student movement throughout the day to prevent the sharing of germs.
There is no doubt that we are going to continue to see Covid cases on the rise for the next couple of weeks; that combined with the typical colds and flus we see at this time of the year will make school and family-life a bit more stressful. However because this latest Covid variant is generally quite mild and the world learned that online learning is not optimal for young students, we are going to follow the recommendations and do all we can to keep our students on-campus and learning in-person.
We need your continued help and support to do this:
- If your child is feeling unwell, keep him/her at home, contact the pediatrician and have him/her tested for Covid.
- Inform Mrs. Garcia immediately if your child or any member of your household has come in contact with a positive Covid case.
- Provide your child with a clean surgical or N/KN95 mask each day.
- Communicate with your child's teachers so that they can help to keep your child learning, even if it must be from home.
I thank each of you for the part you played in making this first week back, in the midst of a Covid-surge, as smooth and safe as it could be. Let's continue to stay strong and focused on the positive and prayerful that this surge will run its course and begin to lessen very soon.
