APRIL 14 - Career and College Readiness Community Summit
Bringing Our Community Together to Support Youth for Career and College Readiness
Plans for next step action will be developed.
This work is being supported by Douglas County Partners for Student Success (DCPSS), the Oregon Career and College Collaboration, Reach Higher Oregon and the Chief Education Office.
Career and College Readiness Community Summit
Douglas County Partners for Student Success (DCPSS) is partnering with The Oregon Career College Collaborative (C3) to bring together a cross-sector team from Douglas County to identify effective steps to better serve our youth in the preparations for their future. We believe that when key adults in our community are coordinated and equipped to engage all students, especially low-income students, on viable pathways to career and post-secondary opportunities, students will thrive.
Lite morning food will be available and lunch will be served. Our grant will support costs of substitutes.

OUTCOMES OF THE SUMMIT - ACTION!
The intended outcomes for the meeting are:
• Complete a comprehensive map of services and resources currently offered to students and families in Douglas County.
• Identify strengths and gaps in Career and College Readiness efforts, including opportunities for exploration, experiences, and planning for career development and post-high school education.
• Identify ways for partners from education, youth serving organizations, business/industry, government and philanthropy to share resources, practices and expertise in order to ensure equitable access for our youth across the county to quality career and college planning.
• Begin a collective effort as appropriate to create local action plans for Measure 98 funding – High School Graduation and Career/College Readiness Act and other grant opportunities.
