As of now, we are planning for in-person instruction to begin on Monday, February 8th. We continue to monitor the status of our campus quarantine students and the conditions around us in Vermont. Later this week our students who quarantined at home and those whose return did not necessitate a quarantine will return to campus housing and take their Day 0 tests. If we need to delay in-person instruction we will communicate relevant updates in this Faculty & Academic Staff Brief and also on the View as soon as possible.


There are four points this semester where we are gathering data about students academically collegewide; Enrollment Verification (Week 2), Academic Survey/nudge (Week 4), Midterm Grades (Week 7) and Final Grades. Don’t forget to complete your enrollment verification, the first of these touch points, by end of day Tuesday (TODAY).

In week 4 of the semester we will be asking faculty to fill out one survey per section taught this semester. This brief survey will accomplish two goals: (1) Provide instructors a quick and efficient way to report students in need of academic support and (2) Connect students with helpful support networks early in the semester to increase overall student success. More information about this new process will be shared in the coming weeks.

As always, if you have concerns about a student’s mental health, student conduct, or wellbeing, please fill out this form ASAP so that the SCART team can be alerted.


The Generator and Champlain Flex Space will be open to faculty, students, and staff Spring 2021 members once campus classes resume on Feb 8. Ian Treu, Flex Space Manager, is available to answer questions and can be readed at itreu@champlain.edu

Champlain/Generator Membership Request Form - Use this form to apply for a free semester-length membership to Generator available through our Generator/Champlain College Partnership. You will be contacted about next steps in processing and activating your semester membership. Memberships must be renewed every semester. First time members will need to complete a New Member Orientation prior to using the space, and returning members may be required to complete a reorientation.

Champlain FlexSpace Use Request Form - Use this form to book the use of the space for particular dates and times, once on campus classes have resumed.

  • Faculty members have 1 more week to sign up for the Faculty Reading Group Friction led by Dr. Mike Lange. All participants will receive a free copy of the book.
