Message from the Principal
Dear Whittier Parents/Guardians,
I wanted to share some very exciting news! As one of the GE Day of Service Schools chosen, we were able to also apply for a $25,000 grant provided by GE to help improve our learning space. AND....WE WON!!!!!! $25,000 JUST FOR WHITTIER!!!
The GE Healthcare Learning for Life Center will build an inclusive culture of creativity, discovery and engagement in our school. This new makers space will allow students opportunities to participate in hands on learning with STEM subjects while also introducing the Arts and distance learning.
I believe, the GE Healthcare Learning for Life Center represents a one time capacity building investment that can help our students, teachers and parents truly believe - ideas and words can change the world. GE's decision to invest in our school, not only changes the way we educate students today and through the foreseeable future, it demonstrates to our teachers, parents and students that they are worth the best. This investment shows how willing our community is to support our students.
This opportunity represents a powerful way to inspire ideas, creativity and promote independent learning. By aligning our curriculum at all grade levels and instructing teachers to make full use of the Center, we hope to expand interest and encourage learning in STEM subjects, applied arts & design and communications.
Thank you for staying connected and engaged! Remind your student to read, read, read! :)
