Adult Options in Education College Scholarship

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

In Minnesota, ALL students should apply for financial aid using one of two applications! The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the most commonly used form. If you are an undocumented student, you may still be eligible to receive State financial aid and in-state resident tuition by submitting the Minnesota Dream Act application.
Choose one session to attend, based on your status indicated below:
Complete the FAFSA (for students who are U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens), or
Complete the MN Dream Act (for students who are undocumented)
NorthStar Promise Scholarship Program
There is no additional application beyond the FAFSA or Minnesota Dream Act Application. The eligible college or university you are attending will assess your eligibility on a term-by-term basis and award North Star Promise Scholarships to all eligible students.
COLLEGE READINESS ACADEMY
International Institute of Minnesota
Gain support and confidence in preparing for college or other higher education. We teach New Americans the same skills as expensive prep classes.

Receive quality training to start your career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Students also practice interview skills and receive support finding a job after graduation. Placement in 7- or 11-week class depends on an English reading assessment.

Work with International Institute of MN through the licensing process to address Minnesota’s doctor shortage. International physicians receive career guidance, healthcare field connections and professional networking opportunities.

Highway Heavy Construction Training and Job Placement
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) provide job training opportunities for women and Black, Indigenous and People of Color community members who are underrepresented in the highway construction industry.
