Welcome to Second Trimester!
Please read the highlights below and help us celebrate the wonderful weekend accomplishments had by our Rocks Football team in the sectional championship, as well as the exhibition showcase on Saturday morning performed by our very own Pride of Westfield Marching Band.
The winter athletics seasons and club seasons are underway, so make sure you check the schedules to come out and support our Rocks this winter!
New Information This Week
New WWS Mask Policy
Starting today, Monday, November 8th, masks are recommended, not mandatory, in all WWS spaces or activities, including athletics, choir, band, etc., during the school day. However, the following caveats will apply:
- Per federal mandate, masks will be required on buses.
- Buildings with a COVID-19 positivity rate above 1.75% will be required to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status, until the positivity rate drops below 1%.
- If six (6) buildings exceed a positivity rate above 1.75%, all WWS buildings will require masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status, until all nine (9) buildings have a positivity rate below 1%.
- COVID-19 case numbers will continue to be reported on Monday.
- Building-level policy changes (switching from mandatory to recommended) will happen on the Wednesday following the Monday report.
We will continue to conduct contact tracing and notifying families if their child has been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. With the removal of the mask mandate, if your child is within three (3) feet of someone who tested positive for COVID-19, they will be considered a close contact and will be required to follow quarantine protocols. Other mitigation measures -- including regular sanitization, promoting hand-washing, monitoring of symptoms, cohorting and distancing -- will continue as well, when appropriate and available.

Rocks Spotlight
Big Weekend for Rocks Football and The Pride of Westfield!
The Rocks hosted the Royals of Hamilton Southeastern for the Sectional Championship on Friday night. It was an instant classic of a game that would come down to a field goal in the final seconds, with the Rocks earning a 24-22 victory! You can read more details about the game in our announcements which can be found on the WHS website under Parents>Announcements.
Your Rocks will travel to Fort Wayne to face Carroll High School this Friday night for the Regional Championship. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 pm. Tickets are available here.
In addition, the Pride of Westfield gave their final performance of the season in exhibition at the 2021 Open Class State Finals on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Pride of Westfield was named the Scholastic Open State Champion earlier this season and we are so proud of them!

WHS Student Parking Permits are Sold Out
All available 2021-22 Student Parking Permits have been issued for the year. A waitlist has been created. To get on the waitlist, students should complete the online registration form AND bring their valid driver's license (learner’s permit not accepted) to show Mrs. Flickinger at the Information Desk in the Main Office.
Students on the waitlist will be notified on a first come first serve basis as spots become available. Please note that filling out the online registration alone DOES NOT place a student on the waiting list. Also, students with learner’s permits are not eligible for the waitlist - a valid driver’s license is required.
For more details, be sure to see the information on our website regarding Parking Permits. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Harris at harrisd@wws.k12.in.us or Mr. Scanlon at scanlonk@wws.k12.in.us.
