Special Update
4 February, 2022
Welcome Back
It has been great meeting with families yesterday and today. Thank you all for making time to come in and meet with your child/ren's class teacher(s).
Classes start on Tuesday 8 February. The gates will open at 8.25am and all students are expected to be at school by 8.45am. We request that all parents drop their child/ren at the gate. New, or recently new, Year 1 students may be accompanied by a parent to their classroom door for their first few days at school, if needed.
If you have a child in Years 4 - 6 they will need to bring a clean mask to wear at school each day. It will need to be worn whenever they are in an indoor space.
At the end of the day there will be a bell at 2.50pm for Years 1 and 2, and their older siblings, to finish school. School finishes at 3pm for Year 3-6 students without younger siblings.
At the end of the school day could parents please meet their child at one of the gates. Please make sure your child knows which gate to go to. If your child is in Year 1-2 and you want them to meet at the Carnot or Ranolf Street entrance please advise the Class Teacher. Email addresses can be found via the School App or website. The Ranolf Street and Church Carpark gates will be locked at 3.15pm each day.
We expect to have some interesting weeks ahead - and will appreciate your flexibility and cooperation during these unprecedented times.
Plea for some more helpers for our Uniform Shop Roster
We changed to St Mary's Rotorua SchoolAppsNZ App a year ago. Do you have it?
MOE Funded School Bus
Free travel on City Buses for students
School students aged 5-18 years old will be able to enjoy free bus travel on all Cityride services before 9am and from 2.30-6.30pm on school days throughout 2022. A registered Bee Card with a pre-loaded child concession is required to utilise the fare-free service.
To take up this free travel, students just need to have a registered Bee Card with a child concession loaded on it. The key is to tag on when entering and tag off when leaving the bus, so they don’t get charged a standard fare.
Anyone wishing to apply for a Bee Card and get a concession loaded can visit www.beecard.co.nz
If you have any queries, please contact transport.admin@boprc.govt.nz or call 0800 4 BAY BUS.
It's really important you regularly check the Class Blog!
Year 3 students
Don't forget ... be extra careful around the Church Carpark area.
- Social distancing is important at the school dropoff and pickup times. Emphasise this to your child/ren and please be a role model.
- You can drive through to drop off and pick up your child here BUT ONLY if your child needs no assistance to quickly exit or enter the car. Adults doing a drop-off or pick-up should not get out of their car.
- If your child isn't ready for a quick pickup in the Church Carpark, we need you to move on.
- Please be considerate of others.
- Take extra care next week.
