The World Language Classroom
An interactive workshop for proficiency-based instruction
Come join us for an interactive workshop based on proficiency-based instruction in a world language classroom. You’ll see elements of various approaches and be able to pick and choose and adapt what you already do to more completely engage your students in their next unit. Woven throughout the workshop day will be a technology tools, online resources, formative/summative assessments and project-based learning ideas. All world language teachers are welcome!
- Exploring myths and realities regarding proficiency-based instruction
Learning and Using Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs)
Discovering authentic resources for instructional planning
Working with Can-Do Statements in the classroom
Teachers are encouraged to bring a fully-charged device, their current language materials and come prepared for an informative, engaging session. Invite your colleagues from other schools as collaborative unit planning can be a lot of fun and sharing ideas and the workload is always a plus! This interactive “Can Do” focused workshop is well worth the time since everyone will leave with a completed unit and great ideas for future units.
