Final Presentations

With the end of the academic year upon us, Conservatory Prep Schools will be moving into our final academic phase of the year. In lieu of traditional final exams, Conservatory Prep students will be creating a Final Presentations in each class. Students will be assigned one topic in each class and create a presentation to reteach that content to the rest of the class. For each class students will be graded on 3 components:
1. A written paper
2. Artistic Presentation
3. Journal comprised of notes and questions from all class presentations

The week of June 1-4 students will be presenting in each class. Please note that 1/3 of their grade is to keep a journal describing all of their classmates' presentations as well as questions. As the purpose is for each student to reteach and learn from one another, missing another's presentation is met with a penalty.

Pool Party on June 4th

On June 4th at 12:00PM we invite the students and our graduated seniors to a pool party from 12:00 - 2:30PM.

Digital Portfolios Coming to Conservatory Prep Schools

Most of the research on the implementation of electronic portfolios has been in higher eduction. Most of the customized e-portfolio tools, both commercial and open source, have been created in and for higher education. Conservatory Prep will begin the use of ePortfolios, adapted for the different culture secondary schooling, and focusing on formative, classroom-based assessment for learning, which prior research has shown to be the best way to improve student achievement (Black & Wiliam, 1998).

Happy Birthday Mr. Ambassador (Ryan S. )
