Learning outside the classroom!

If you have ever been a part of helping a teacher during any type of field trip, then you truly understand how much time and dedication goes into the special gift of learning outside the classroom. Every young person should experience the world beyond the classroom. Learning beyond the classroom offers a whole host of opportunities you’ll struggle to find within confines of your classroom’s four walls. This sometimes requires creativity and the use of technology, and at RNE, our students are growing so fast as they participate in these authentic opportunities with their teachers and friends.

I am so proud of the work I see occurring in the classrooms. Teachers are preparing engaging lessons that spark student curiosity, and our PBL units are in full swing. I love watching the students make connections and gain a deeper understanding of the content. I know this type of instruction will help our students prepare themselves for jobs that have yet to even be created!

The soiree is tomorrow night! I am so excited about this event. The Foundation has planned a wonderful evening, and the artwork created by the classes is beautiful. However, the best part is that all of the money raised goes to support the students at RNE! I am so proud to have the such a phenomenal support system across the PTA, School Governance Council, and our Foundation! These groups bolster our students’ growth tremendously! Thank you!

SGC Candidate Statements Available

It is elections season again! We are only one week away from our spring School Governance Council elections. Elections will take place March 23rd –March 29th for parent/guardian representatives and teacher representatives. Each candidate has prepared a statement introducing him/herself and explaining why s/he wants to serve on the Council. As you prepare to cast your vote, please visit our school’s SGC website to learn more about the candidates so that you can make an informed decision about your Council representatives. Hard copies of the candidate statements are available in the main office for your viewing as well. Also, don’t forget to stop by the main office, with proper identification, to get your Home Access Code. This code is required to access the voting portal for Council elections. EACH parent gets a vote in this election; therefore EACH parent must have his/her OWN Home Access Code. Be sure your code works so that you are able to vote in March.

Cheer on the Hornets at RHS Soccer Spirit Night!

On Tuesday, March 22 the Roswell High School Girls (5:55 PM) and Boys (8:00 PM) Soccer teams will be playing their annual Spirit Night double-header match against Milton High School in the Hornet’s Nest at Roswell High School. RHS is graciously offering free admission to any youth soccer player in uniform jersey with a paying adult. Willy’s Food Truck will be on hand to offer great food with the great plays on the field. The RHS Boys team is also inviting youth soccer players, girls and boys, to accompany the starters from both the RHS and MHS teams onto the field during pre-game introductions - as you see in English Premier League and International competitions. Please email rhsboyssoccerbc@gmail.com no later than March 18 if you would like to be a part of the exciting event. Come cheer on the RHS Soccer Hornets!

Thank you for your support

This week is School Board Appreciation Week. The RNE community would like to send a special thank you to Katha Stuart for the countless hours she spends on reviewing policies and making decisions that positively impact student learning and school environments.
