Go Fourth!
News & tidbits from 4th Grade at HRRS.
Wednesday, October 28, 2015
this newsletter was supposed to make it to you by Wednesday afternoon, but the computer refused to save it; lost connection and it went bye-bye into cyberspace. Deep sigh. Here goes, take two. I did want to give you a little lead time on a request I have. I could use an extra pair or two of hands at our party on Friday (12:30 to help set up, to 2:20ish to help tidy up). If that time frame would work for your schedule, please let me know and I will confirm back with you. Thank you kindly.
Speaking of the Party for 4th Grade on Friday, thank you for those who have signed up for snacks and drinks so far. There are still a few empty slots on our signup sheet (hint, hint).
Picture Day went smoothly today. Everyone came in complete uniform, looking great. Now we get to practice patience while we wat for the pictures to come back.
Our first field trip is (drum roll, please!) now scheduled. It will be on Tuesday, November 17th. We will be going to the Planetarium at Pierce College. There will be a live presentation on Daily Motions - of the earth moon and stars- as well as a video presentation on The Secret Lives of Stars. We will take our sack lunches from school and eat at the college's cafeteria. Then, weather permitting, we'll walk around an adjacent lake, Waughop Lake before returning to school. There will be a $3.00 cost for each student attending. I am looking for three parents to drive and chaperone for the event. Please check your schedule and let me know your interest and availability and whether you have completed your Virtus Training. Thank you for your involvement in our class and school!
By the way, our school will be having an assembly for Veteran's Day coming up soon. If you have any family members in any of our armed forces and can send or bring in pictures for a slide show, that would be great.
Enough details for the moment, signing off for now,
Mrs. Marthie Ramos

P.S. Don't forget to keep on practicing those math facts, aiming for both speed and accuracy!
