Who's really guilty?
Dominic B Sanders
Its the communities fault for holding the grudge.
I chose this song because it paints a perfect picture of the conflict in Verona. This shows how Romeo and Juliet both weren't accepted in each others cultures. The community wouldn't ever accept them as a couple. This song explains the fact that they just wanted to be happy. The community killed them. This grudge killed them. If the differences would've been settled they would be together and be alive. "Alack, there lies more peril in thine eye Than twenty of their swords; look thou but sweet, And I am proof against their enmity" (Act II, Scene II). Romeo is pleading that he does not care about others thoughts, he just wants to be with Juliet. The song proves this thought perfectly. " Call me a sinner, call me a saint, tell me its over ill still love you the same" (Shinedown, Call me).
Call Me - Shinedown Lyrics
poem
This poem, i feel makes a personal connection between Romeo and Juliet. Their bond between each other is what got them killed. If they weren't relentless they wouldn't still be alive! This sort of carelessness got them both killed. They should've accepted the fact that they couldn't be together. " 'Tis but thy name that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a Montague" ( Act II, Scene II). The evidence relentless acts between both willing to sacrifice their lives to be together.
