Staying Fit! News from Mr. Gargaro and Mrs. Daigle
We are moving forward on the calendar, however, the weather is not proving to be doing the same thing. It is important though that your children are wearing sneakers for PE on both of their PE days! We are hoping to be outside every day and sneakers are a must. Please do NOT have your child wear SANDALS or FLIP FLOPS, as the rocks get in their shoes and we also wouldn't want anyone stepping on toes that are exposed.
Presently, grades 2-4 are working on Tennis Skills. We are working on controlling the force that is applied to the ball as well as controlling where it goes. We are starting to hit the ball against the wall in some of the younger grades and also, heading outside to begin volleying the tennis ball over the net to a partner. Eye-hand coordination and depth perception are very important skills that we're focusing on. Practice at home, if possible, is a big help in gaining confidence and control. It's also a fun way to interact with your child - they love hitting the ball back and forth.
In the younger grades, we have been focusing on games that involve over and underhand throws/rolls, hitting a target accurately and tracking (following) an object visually. These skills are important in order to move on with kickball and T-ball. We are hoping that the weather clears and the fields dry quickly so that we can move activity outside permanently.

Bus Information for 2019/2020 School Year
Bus routes are created to serve students who need transportation. To that end, we ask that parents/guardians register for transportation services each year. As of May 1, registration is open here. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfvF_vp87I9kbeUzt-jvOIbI3UgN_hNaegjRO1KCN2xO5VBCw/viewform
Regardless of the option you choose, it may be changed at any time in the future. Our transportation system operates most efficiently when we transport those who need transportation, as opposed to those who are eligible, but may not use it.
