Updates/Reminders

Multiplication Quizzes- This week we will start our timed multiplication quizzes. The goal is for student's to become fluent with their multiplication facts. This week our quiz will be on the 2's facts and 5's facts. They will need to know the facts through 12. (2x0, 2x1, 2x2, ....2x12). They will have 2 minutes to answer 26 questions. These quizzes will not be put in the gradebook. Instead, the students will earn toppings for an ice cream sundae each time they pass a quiz.

If a student does not pass a quiz they will retake the quiz the following week instead of moving on to the next quiz.

Students can study using flashcards on the app QUIZLET or by making flashcards with notecards or paper. I suggest doing a little practice each night.

Division Test- We will have a division test on Friday. The students will get a practice test on Wednesday. To review they can use the practice pages from their book, the practice test, or you can write out problems for them to practice.

What Can I Ask My Child About?

Ask them what they learned about police dogs when reading Aero and Officer Mike.

Ask them what their narrative was about. The kids got very creative with their stories!

Ask them what strategies they've learned to solve division problems.
