Bear Bulletin
Maire Newsletter November 12th edition
Dear Maire Families,
With consistent cold weather coming, we are going to be moving lunch indoors. I’m proud of how flexible our students have been, eating outside on warm and cold days for as long as they did. It truly was the safest place to eat, but the frigid temperatures will make eating outside unbearable without a source of heat.
We have adjusted our inside eating space to minimize the amount of close contacts. We will be adding tables and chairs in every available space, including our oldest students possibly using space on the stage, in order to space students apart. With our old plan, if a student tested positive, we could have up to eight students in a six foot radius. With our new plan, we have reduced that number down to two students that would need to quarantine from an exposure. In most locations, it is only the student sitting directly in front and the student directly behind the positive case that will need to quarantine. We have exhausted countless options, but this is the best we can do. With a continued focus on safety, we are planning to have siblings eat together if they have a common lunch (1st/3rd and K/4th). Students in the same household do not need the 6 feet of space from each other, which allows the student population to spread out more. Map of Lunchroom
We will start eating inside next week (November 15th). As always, parents are welcome and encouraged to pick their child up for lunch, just please use this Lunchtime Pick Up Form. Some parents may ask if outside is an option for some students, but logistically it is too difficult to monitor and ensure students are safe. We will no longer allow students to have lunch outside, as we need to move many of the tables inside, and with snow in the winter, the tents will not be easily accessible.
Sincerely,
Ryan Francis

Trick or Trash !
In the United States alone, more than 600 million pounds of candy are purchased each year for Halloween. The vast majority of candy wrappers end up in landfills due to an inability by most curbside recycling programs to recycle them."
The program consists of a simple cardboard collection box where students can deposit candy wrappers they've collected at home or at school lunch!
Please send wrappers in with your students, and there will be a collection box in the secure vestibule.
