Koala Bears
1. Describe the animal
An Australian animal that looks like a teddy bear. It is called a koala bear or native bear, but the koala is not related to any kind of bear. Koalas have soft but thick fur they also have a large, hairless nose; round ears; and no tail. The fur is gray or brown on the koalas back and underneath it is white. Koalas measure from 25 to 30 inches in length and weigh 15 to 30 pounds .

2. How is it born? How does the mother care for its Young?
Koalas are marsupials. Female koalas give birth to tiny, offspring. The koala, or joey, is carried in a pouch on its mother's stomach until it completely develops. The koala has a pouch that opens toward the rear of its body. A joey remains in the pouch for about seven months, suckling on one of the mother's two nipples. It spends the next six months riding on its mother's back.

3.How does it get food? What does it eat?
Koalas eat mainly the leaves. They get their liquids from eucalyptus leaves. Koalas that live in the wild rarely drink water. koalas eat between 1 to 2 pounds of leaves dailey and can easily get their food supply. Joeys get the food supplies from the mother and the mothers gets her food in the trees.

The koala bear is from Australian. Koala try to say where there are suitable trees have been left.Koalas are active primarily at night. They sleep most of the day in the forks of eucalyptus trees.

5. Who are its enemies, and how does it defend itself?
The enemies of the koala are humans. The humans are cutting down the trees in which the koalas live in.People hunt the animals for the fur. Now the killing of the koalas have been prohibited.
