How do I Excuse my Student for an Appointment?
Blue Pass!!!!!
If you are needing to pick up your student at a certain time, Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to call us earlier in the day and we will be happy to deliver a blue pass to your student.
A Blue Pass is a student’s pass out of class. For example, if you have an orthodontist appointment in the afternoon, call the attendance line at 970-833-7105 and leave a message with your child’s name, your name and time you would like your student to be released. The school office will then deliver a "blue pass" to your student. When the designated time arrives, your child may show the teacher the blue pass and can leave class to meet you. They will already be checked out in our system and do not need to check out in the office. Parents/Guardians also do not need to come to the office when a Blue Pass is issued.

Chai Tea?
Everyone knows that the Russians love their vodka, but did you know that Russians drink more tea than vodka? They consume it multiple times a day with lemon, jam, or milk. Green and black tea are both consumed by Russians. The Central Asians love their green tea also and even have a ritual they go through before they drink it. The word for tea in Russian is “Chai (Чай).” I laughed so hard when many coffee shops here started to sell “Chai tea”. So, it’s “tea tea?” Tea for breakfast is still more popular than coffee. After lunch the Russians drink tea with dessert. When Russians wait for someone at a cafe, they drink tea (asking to refill the teapot with boiling water over and over to squeeze out the maximum from the tea leaves!). If it’s already late at night the Russians drink tea as a digestive after a heavy meal before going to bed. Even the word for “tip” in Russian is “money for tea.” So, fire up your “Samovar (самовар) and invite your Russian friend over for tea! Bis nächste Woche! До следующей недели! Alles gute! Всего хорошего!
